Juniper furniture, also known as juniper log furniture, incorporates western juniper logs and live edge wood slabs together, creating unique rustic style natural wood furniture.

While western juniper trees (Juniperus occidentalus) are commonly used in rustic natural wood furniture designs. It’s a cone-bearing species growing in the western U.S. mountain regions. The trees often grow on dry, rocky sites with less competition from larger trees. Exposure to fierce, freezing winds can cause the trees to become twisted or stunted in growth or to have a ‘krumholtz formation’ (German: Krumm, “crooked, bent, twisted” and Holz, “wood”). With that in mind, customers should know that the more twisted/gnarled juniper trees are much harder to come by and cost more to procure. Juniper logs range from small diameters (2-3 inches) to as large as 24 inches in diameter. However, an average juniper tree is 10 to 15 feet tall and 3 to 10 inches in diameter.

Also, our twisted juniper lamps come in a variety of forms and sizes. We often incorporate one or more small shelves into our floor lamps, providing both beauty and utility. Table lamps can be small and practical to wild and striking, whichever suits your tastes. Twisted juniper is an excellent choice for vanity bases. By first arranging several multi-sized logs into a unique design, we can complete the vanity with a top of your choosing (curly redwood or live edge black walnut). Also, larger twisted juniper logs make outstanding table bases. No two juniper log bases are alike!

Also, there because of the uniqueness, no two mantels are the same. Size limitations also need to be considered as shelf areas vary dramatically, as can length. However, we have provided juniper mantels as long a 15′ long but the shelf varied from 4″ to 16″ deep. We also offer twisted juniper logs as columns.
